Molding Vs Purchasing

Note that you also have the option of molding your own blocks instead of purchasing them ready-made.

Molding your own blocks let's you control how many blocks you want per bag of cement. So instead of 35, you could go for 30, 40, 45, etc.

Also, the dimensions of each block can be changed as you see fit. For instance, since your fence is not load-bearing, you could use thinner 4 inch blocks (4" x 9" x 18") in place of 6 inch (6" x 9" x 18"). Doing so would give you 33% more blocks from the same amount of sand and cement. You end up saving 33% on the cost of blocks. On the other hand, you may decide you want a thicker fence, and so use 9" x 9" x 18". Molding your own gives you flexibility.
